HENNEPIN COUNTY SoC WORK
System of Care: What Wellness Means to Families
The Hennepin County Children’s Mental Health Collaborative, in partnership with the Hennepin County System of Care, embarked on a project to learn more about parent and caregiver wellness. The goal was to understand families’ perspectives on wellness and the support that matters most to them, using these insights to inform future improvements in family services and community well-being.
Through ongoing collaboration and focused conversations with families across Hennepin County we seek to understand and reflect community values, honor lived experiences, and shape more authentic approaches to family wellness. This collective work continues to remind us that when community leads, families thrive and systems evolve.

Through ongoing collaboration and focused conversations, a powerful theme emerged: families thrive when they have access to culturally specific spaces for connection, support, and healing. These spaces reflect community values, honor lived experiences, and shape more authentic approaches to family wellness.
This collective work continues to remind us that when community leads, families thrive and systems evolve. System of Care Community Partnerships: Key Lessons Learned
The Hennepin County Children’s Mental Health Collaborative, through its System of Care work with Hennepin County, sought to deepen its partnerships with culturally specific community organizations that facilitate parent and caregiver groups focused on addressing children’s mental health. This initiative is a dedicated effort to work collaboratively with and within racially and culturally diverse communities in Hennepin County. The goal is to ensure that the diverse perspectives and needs of underrepresented communities are heard and effectively addressed, thereby fostering a more inclusive and responsive system of care.
This report outlines lessons learned during the first six months of these partnerships and provides us with important reflection questions and calls to action.
